3Fun Users’ Data Is Not Hacked or Disclosed – The Security Update Was Made On July 2nd

Updated on 11-19-2019

After the security vulnerabilities were reported inside of the dating app, 3Fun, immediate action was taken by us to correct the issue. Security updates to 3Fun’s API, servers and mobile application were made on July 2nd and a new, secure version of the app was released on July 8th. Users’ data is not hacked or disclosed.

1. We have applied a new security API and banned the old one on July 8th
2. Instead of using GPS, 3Fun uses distance to help our users connect with other people nearby.
3. Besides, we also offer a feature in the app where users can choose to hide their distance while searching for other users.
4. Private photos will only be seen by people users have liked.
5. For users’date of birth, we use their age, not the birth date. As for the sexual preferences, it will be shown to our users publicly while this is how dating apps work. That’s not a leak or expose.
6. Last but not least, there is NO chat data, or any other info exposed.

3Fun is renewing our commitment to product safety, user security, and personal protection from any and all unwanted attacks, cyber and otherwise.  We will continue to focus on updating our product to make it safer and we invite security researchers to hold us accountable and test our application for threats of further penetration. We owe it to all our users to make sure that a security lapse of this magnitude never happens again, and hope that the entire industry will collectively take steps to prevent such mishandlings of private data.
